Thesis title:

Wild Animals in East Midlands Place-Names

A study of medieval place-names in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland, which describe wild animals or their interaction with humans, combined with zooarchaeological and literary evidence. The impact of this study on conservation, rewilding, and reintroduction will be considered, with a number of case-studies.
