Thesis title:
I’m a rare books librarian and former curator of nineteenth century printed books. My PhD will examine the historical significance of early newspaper print culture in Birmingham. My research explores radical newspapers through the lens of their design to determine how external factors affected their appearance and what this can reveal about the social, political and technological backgrounds in which they were published.
