My research develops a victim-perpetrator model of the moral responsibility of child soldiers. I explore how endorsement of action can establish a degree of moral responsibility under certain conditions, and use this to argue for the potential dual nature of child soldiers as both victim and perpetrator. My project particularly focuses on the age at which we become morally responsible, and the effect of coercion and trauma on the moral development of children. I also evaluate current international law in light of this model.
