Thesis title:
Homeless Near a Thousand Homes: Wordsworth and the Language of Vagrancy
My doctoral study is focused on the relationship between William Wordsworth’s poems on vagrancy and poverty and the debates on legislation and welfare reform during his lifetime. This is underpinned by a desire to consider this work from the perspective of contemporary crticism and discourse around homelessness.
