My research investigates how the current polycrisis – an increasingly adopted term characterised by the intertwined challenges of the global pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, austerity measures, food and energy shortages, and environmental breakdown – is reshaping notions of publicness, sustainability, and social responsibility within art organisations in Manchester and Birmingham.
