Teaching

Rebecca has been a visiting lecturer at University of Bedfordshire, Bath Spa University, University of Bath and Teesside University.  She has created programmes to develop professional digital dance practices for Sampad Arts.

HINTERLANDS  / 2024

Speculative futures of human evolution as human, digital and extremophile.  Live streaming mocap data to an untethered headset in passthrough mode to control an AR ‘entity’. 

With support from partners UWE Bristol, Knowle West Media Centre and The Studio. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

800 LIFETIMES  / 2021

Modern mythmaking for a digital age  :  360 Immersive interactive sound and contemporary dance 

Commissioned and co-produced by the University of Bedfordshire and Bedford Creative Arts, a part of the Dance Beds programme.  Produced by Step Out Arts.  Supported in partnership by Dance East and The Place Theatre Bedford.  Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.

DWELLING  / 2020

A physical response capturing the momentum of change, the stillness of isolation and the personal stories that dwell in our homes and community. 


Using projectors people invited a virtual dancer into their space, creating a response that incorporated themselves, the dancer and their home. 97 videos, 126 photos, 10 pieces of original writing was created. Commissioned by Waltham Forest Council as part of Waltham Forest Virtual Culture. Funded by the Great Place Scheme.


UPLOAD/UNPLUG  / 2016-2019

How big data shapes our on and offline world. Audiences on tablets change the dance, sound and projection co-creating the show with their data and choices


Supported by Arts Council England. Toured UK and Internationally 2019. 


THE OTHER  / 2016-2017

A duet between a peddler of fear and the fragile human spirit using choreographed handheld lighting and movement.  


Commissioned by 2Faced Dance Company for 2016/2017 tour of RUN. 


‘K’  / 2015

A journey from intimacy to isolation driven by mobile communication and our need to communicate.  An in-the-round work utilising 2 handheld and 2 fixed projectors. 


Commissioned by Wiltons Music Hall for Wiltons Strike.
